PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), a subsidiary of Australian-based OZ Minerals Limited, is developing the Martabe Project in North Sumatra, approximately 40 km south-east of Sibolga. Gold and silver ore will be mined by open pit methods using a mining contractor. A processing facility will be built adjacent to the pit to process ore at a rate of 4.5 Mtpa to produce approximately 200,000 oz of gold and 2 million oz of silver annually.
PTAR now is pleased to invite applications for the following roles:
Exploration Geologist (GEO505)
Accountable to conduct grass roots exploration works such as detail and regional geological mapping, BLEG/stream sediment sampling, data compilation and geological/structural interpretation. The recent vacant positions are for Senior to Junior Level, fresh graduates are welcome to send the application.
Candidates for the above roles would be expected to have the following qualifications and experiences:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in geology or geological engineering, master degree is preferred.
- Having minimum 2 years working experience for Exploration Geologist.
- Have experience in exploration for low and high temperature epithermal Au-Ag systems and porphyry Cu-Au deposits.
- Have experience in supervising diamond drilling, core logging and geophysical surveys.
- Competent in use of Map-Info and/or Micro-mine software would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership, ability to work in the remote locations and difficult terrain with minimum supervision, and able to communicate with indigenous people.
- Training of junior geologists and field assistants
- Report writing and informal presentation
- Ability to communicate well in English both written and spoken.
